What are environmental toxins? How do they affect our daily living? What is greenwashing? Why are our water regulations in the USA so behind? What is BPA?  There seems like a laundry list of issues that we could list out when addressing our toxic environmental health crisis. So where do we start, and what changes can we make as a priority to a nontoxic life? Today we sit down with Dr. Cohen to discuss. “In this country, there are no regulatory bodies that oversee the labeling or ingredients that go into these products.”

“The US has only removed five chemicals and Europe has removed at least 1200.”

“Our municipal tap water serves about 250 million Americans, whereas the rest is well water. There are only 91 chemicals monitored. Currently, in 2020 we have around 90,000 chemicals that can get into the drinking water. So we realized that this monitoring of the drinking water is built on old laws and old infrastructure.”

“When it comes to living non-toxic, we should go for progress, not perfection. “

“Organic frozen food is far less expensive than organic fresh food. We teach people how to wash their food if it’s not organic. We also talk about the dirty dozen.”

“You want to stay away from plastics in all its forms. BPA is a plastic liner to most Tupperware and it’s even on receipts and also on things like airplane tickets and car tickets.”
